Music Department 

Music is an important part of the Services and Activities of Unity in the Valley.

Music Department.  The Music Department of our Church is responsible for the vocal and instrumental music at each Sunday Worship Service, as well as at our annual Christmas Candlelight Service, our Easter Sunday Worship Service, and various other special musical events.

Sunday Worship Services.  Each weekly Sunday Worship Service, held at 10:00 a.m. in our Church Building, features the following music:

1. •An organ or piano prélude.
   

2. •An introductory vocal solo.
   

3. •The singing by the Congregation of "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place."
   

4. •The singing by the Congregation of a Joy Song.
   

5. •The singing by the Congregation of a Meditation Hymn.
   

6. •Quiet background instrumental music to accompany Meditation by Minister.
   

7. •The singing by the Congregation of "The Lord's Prayer."
   

8. •A special musical presentation by a vocal or instrumental soloist or ensemble of musicians.
   

9. •The singing by the Congregation of an Offertory Hymn.
   

10. •The singing by the Congregation of "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

Musicians.  Various vocal or instrumental soloists, or vocal duets or trios perform at our Sunday Worship Services and other events, such as our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.  Some of our musicians compose and/or arrange music sung by our soloists.

Musical Instruments.  We are also interested in anyone who plays a musical instrument, and who can furnish his or her own instrument (other than organ or piano) for rehearsals, services, and special performances.  See Rev. Guerette or Mary Lou Catania.
