What is Unity?

Sunday Worship Services

Unity in the Valley conducts Sunday Worship Services each week at 10:00 a.m.  All Sunday Worship Services are held in our Church Building at 17630 S. Camino de las Quintas, Sahuarita, AZ, two miles north of Green Valley.

Our services are conducted by our Minister, Rev. Maurice E. Guerette, or occasionally by a guest minister.

These services are open to everyone.  We welcome all visitors, newcomers, and guests.

(scroll down for more information)

 All faiths are welcome.

Our Church extends a warm welcome to people of all ages, beliefs, and

ethnic backgrounds to visit us on Sunday morning.

"And God did rest the seventh day from all His works."  (Hebrews 4:4)

Our church is located a very short, easy commute from anywhere in Green Valley (including La Posada), Sahuarita (including Rancho Sahuarita), and Quail Creek.

It is a fairly short, pleasant commute (in light Sunday morning traffic) from most of Tucson and Oro Valley, and from South Tucson, Corona de Tucson, Madera Reserve, Continental, Lakewood, Amado, Tubac, the San Xavier and Pascua Yaqui Reservations, and the eastern parts of the Tohono O'Odham Nation.

It is a fast, easy freeway drive from Nogales, Rio Rico, Tumacacori, Carmen, and Elephant Head on the south; from Marana, Rillito, and Cortaro on the northwest; and from Vail and Davis-Monthan on the northeast.

DIRECTIONS to our Church Building (see our Maps and Directions page): Take La Cañada Drive north from Duval Mine Road, approximately 1.5 to 2.0 miles, (or south from Sahuarita Road, approximately 1.8 miles).  Turn right (east) on Camino Antigua.  Proceed to Camino de las Quintas (Mormon Church across the street on the right).  Turn left (north) a short distance on Camino de las Quintas, then turn into the first driveway on your left (west side of the road) and into our church parking lot (located at the drawn-in dot on the bottom map).   Please remain on the walkways, and enter the church from the west (left side, as you face the church from the parking lot).

Have you thought about setting up a carpool so that members and friends in the same neighborhood can more easily attend church?

"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it."  (Genesis 2:3)

Our Sunday Worship Services are based upon the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ, and the application of these teachings, as set forth by Unity Founders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, and the Unity Institute.

Each Sunday Worship Service at our church is a joyful, inspirational, uplifting event for everyone who attends.  Each service, which lasts approximately one hour, features:

  • A musical prélude by our organist / pianist, Mary Lou Catania.

  • Centering Hymn.

  • Welcome and greeting of guests.

  • Opening Statement, Mission Statement, and Joy Song.

  • The Daily Word , Prayer Box Blessing, and Prayers.

  • Meditation Hymn, Meditation, and The Lord's Prayer.

  • Special musical presentation by our Choir and/or soloists - Mary Lou Catania, Director.

  • Spiritual lesson by our Minister, Rev. Maurice Guerette.

  • Brief announcements.

  • Prosperity Blessing, Offering, and Offertory Hymn.

  • Circle of Love, Prayer for Protection, and singing of Let There Be Peace on Earth.

Topics of Rev. Guerette's morning lessons and special music in upcoming Sunday Worship Services, are:

  • August 3:   "Do You Want to be Happy?" (part 1)

  • August 10:  "Do You Want to be Happy?" (part 2)

  • August 17:  "Do You Want to be Happy?" (part 3)

  • August 24:  "Do You Want to be Happy?" (part 4)

  • August 31:  Guest speaker (tentative).

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."  (Exodus 20:8)

Tell your relatives, friends, and colleagues about our Sunday Worship Services.  Members of our congregation are encouraged to bring guests to the services.  Persons attending our church for the first time are - at their option - acknowledged by our congregation and personally greeted by our Minister during the service.

We are an inspirational Christian Church.  Our church is growing, as people discover how our uplifting nondenominational services - based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ - help them to better their lives through the application of positive spiritual principles in their daily affairs and activities.

There are no requirements for church attendance, however.  We do not recruit, convert, save, proselytize, or coerce.  We do come together and learn to live positive, loving, peaceful, happy, healthy, and prosperous lives.

People keep returning to this church because their lives are transformed in a positive manner when the principles of Practical Christianity that we teach are practiced.  Unity is a way of life.  You are welcome here.

"Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee."  (Deuteronomy 5:12)

The first Sunday of each month is Birthday / Friendship Sunday.  A mini-social hour follows this service.

The Second Sunday of each month is Community Food Bank Sunday.

The Fourth Sunday of each month is Building Fund Sunday.

Our Choir and musicians will perform special music in commemoration of Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and other special events and occasions.

We look forward to seeing you at our Sunday Worship Services each week and other special services conducted from time to time.
