Mission and Vision Statements

of the Unity Church of Green Valley

Unity and the Unity Church of Green Valley have five Spiritual Principles by which we are governed:

1. There is only one presence and one power in the universe and in my life: God, the good, omnipotent.

2. Man is Divine through the Christ within, the individualization of God in man.

3. Thoughts are powerful. The Law of Mind Action states: "Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind," or "Whatever you give your attention to, prospers." "You create your own reality through your beliefs."

4. Denials and affirmations affect our minds and therefore our thoughts and beliefs. Denials and affirmations affect man, not God.

5. We acknowledge the active presence of God in our lives. Prayer and meditation are ways to open ourselves to insight, intuition, and conscious awareness of the greater reality. Forgiveness and Love are our primary purposes and primary functions.

The Mission and Vision Statements and the Opening Statement to our Sunday Worship Services are:

Mission Statement: To provide a meeting place of worship which encourages discovery of the divine self, in an environment of love and support where all feel safe to express their own divinity through meditation, teaching, music and spiritual interaction. This Mission Statement is read by the Congregation of the Unity Church of Green Valley at each Sunday Worship Service.

Vision Statement: I give thanks that our beautiful and appropriate Church is supplied with the rich substance of God.

Opening Statement: There is only One Presence and One Power in the Universe and in my life: God the Good Omnipotent. This Opening Statement is read by the Congregation of the Unity Church of Green Valley at each Sunday Worship Service.

All faiths are welcome.

We encourage anyone in Tucson or the Santa Cruz Valley who does not have a permanent church home to visit us on Sunday morning.

"The Lord is in the midst of thee." (Zephaniah 3:15) - Also quoted by Dr. H. Emilie Cady in Lessons in Truth, Chapter 10. Dr. Cady goes on: "Think of it -- in the midst of you -- at the center of your being this moment while you read these words. Say it, say it, think it, dwell on it, whoever you are, wherever you are! In the midst of you!"

She continues, quoting Zephaniah (3:17): "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will renew thee in His love, He will exult over thee with singing."
